The scientist starts by assembling his robot in a lab.

INT. LAB ñ UNDISCLOSED TIME

We see the back of a scientist in a white coat. obscuring something that hes working on. sounds like hes tinkering with a computer tower.

** Could just use camera angles/placing to look like they’re holding a disconnected foot rather than buying/acquiring a prop **

CLOSE-UP: The scientist grabs hold of a left foot. The scientist holding on the foot as if he was snapping it to the leg.

CLOSE-UP: The scientist grabs hold of a right foot. The scientist holding on the foot as if he was snapping it to the leg.

CLOSE-UP: He has a left hand. The scientist holds to the hand as if he is attaching it to the arm. CLOSE-UP: He has a right hand. The scientist holds to the hand as if he is attaching it to the arm.

(mechanical click/snap sounds if at all possible)

CLOSE-UP: We see the back of the scientist. He moves to reveal a head of the robot. The scientist appears to pick up the head.

CUT TO: We see the back of the scientist, he seems to be twisting a head on a body. He moves away to reveal the robot hunk sitting in a chair. The robot is only wearing boxer-breifs, and has its eyes closed.

SCIENTIST

“There we go. Youíre all assembled.” The Scientist fiddles around with the head from behind. holding a tool (tinker sounds)

SCIENTIST (contíd)

“Now to activate you.”

CLOSE-UP: The back of the robotís neck. He then activates it by pressing a “button” the neck.

CUT TO: The robot instantaneously he looks wide awake.

CLOSE-UP: Eyes open.

CUT TO: The scientist uses a flashlight in the eyes of the robot.

CLOSE UP: close-up of the eyes glowing. SFX (maybe just slight whiring sound as the flashlight shrinks the pupils)

CUT TO: The robot jerks its head left to right slightly, as if it is still booting up.

ROBOT: “This unit is activated.”

SCIENTIST: holding a tablet in hand, messing with the screen.

“Good, now stand.”

ROBOT: “Acknowledged.” The robot stands methodically and very robotically. The Scientist lightly feels up the robotís body and the robot does not react.

SCIENTIST: “scan the room.”

ROBOT: “Scanning room.”

The robot scans the room blankly. It is not necessarily aware of anything. The scientist admires his creation. He touches it and feels on is body. He gropes its chest (and rubs its belly button for the directors sake). The robot is sort of idly scanning the room as the scientist continue touches him. The robot instantly gives blank smile expression, as if it is programmed to smile when being touched for a moment.

** Scanning: turns head left and right repeatedly like a radar. Maybe the robot gives a blank smile and quickly returns to a blank expression, cycles through those two randomly **

SCIENTIST: “ok, Let me commence a test.” “Lift your right arm.” The robot stops as if processing the command, then lifts its right arm slowly from the side, it stops midway, as the scientist tweeks settings on his tablet, and it starts robotically twitching its fingers.

SCIENTIST (Contíd): “Make a fist.” The robot makes a fist.

SCIENTIST (Contíd): “Put it down.” The robot puts its right arm down.

SCIENTIST (Contíd): “now Lift your left arm.” The robot stops as if processing the command, then lifts its left arm slowly from the side, it stops midway, as the scientist tweeks settings on his tablet, and it starts robotically twitching its fingers.

SCIENTIST (Contíd): “Make a fist.” The robot makes a fist.

SCIENTIST (Contíd): “Put it down.” The robot puts its left arm down.

SCIENTIST (Contíd): tweeking the screen “left arm. Make a muscle.” Robot mechanically pumps his biceps back and forth. The scientist feels up the muscles.

SCIENTIST (Contíd): tweeking the tablet once again. “now the right arm. Make a muscle.” Robot slowly puts down left arm as if it is decompressing air (think of how a trash compactor or someting decompresses air) it then robotically lifts its right arm. Robot mechanically pumps his biceps back and forth. The scientist feels up the bicep.

**add decompression sounds if at all possible**

SCIENTIST (Contíd): tweeking the tablet again “Now for your legs.” the right arm decompresses, and the robot processes the new command.

ROBOT: “understood… Commencing.” Robot sits down and bends left leg and lifts it up, locks it in place as the scientist slowly fondles his perfect toy. it Then robotically flexes its toes. The scientist rubs its thighs, calves, and feet of the left leg.

SCIENTIST: “Nice. Now the other leg.” It pauses to process the command, and decompresses its left leg and lifts up right leg. locks it in place as the scientist slowly fondles his perfect toy. it Then robotically flexes its toes. The scientist rubs its thighs, calves, and feet of the right leg.

SCIENTIST (Contíd): “Good, stand up.”

Robot pauses to process the command, decompresses its right leg, and mechanically stands up once again. The scientist feels up on his torso as the robot robotically idles.

SCIENTIST (Contíd): (tweeking settings on his tablet) “now for Torso exercises.”

ROBOT: (processes command) “understood, Commencing.” Robot mechanically does torso exercises by turning its torso from the hip. twisting robotically left and right, foward and backward.

SCIENTIST: “Good. Stop.” the robot instantly freezes in place for a few seconds, processes the command, straightens up, and is completely motionless. he tweeks some things on the back of the robot, and says “time for a field test” as the screen fades to the next scene.

INT. HOME ñ UNDISCLOSED TIME

We fade back in to the robot standing in its boxerbriefs in the hallway. on the floor leading to the stairs is miscellaneous thuings like shoes, boxes, etc. these are obstacles for the robot to navigate.

SCIENTIST: “Start special detection test.” the robot jerks awake, and begins a slight boot sequence like a cpu coming back online from sleep mode.

CUT TO: Robot standing in front of obstacles like shoes. With every obstacle he stops and scans the object. He proceeds to step over it.

It takes the longest time with steps. It stops at the bottom of the stairs, scans it up and down, left and right. He then climbs them methodically.

CUT TO: it misses the last step, collapses stiffly on the floor, and begins to malfunction.

ROBOT: “Error. Error. E-E-Ero-or” it robotically jerks and twitches, mindlessly staring into space, turning its head, flexing its torso, twitiching its fingers and toes. The scientist goes over to him and tweeks settings on the tablet, and it stops speaking. He feels up his body. He then sits the still malfunctioning/silent robot up, presses the back of the robotís neck, and it freezes in place, eyes wide open string into space, and mouth slightly agape like a doll.

CUT TO: The scientist then turns Robotís head to access the back. He does fiddling that leads the robot to do facial twitching. it blinks its eyes a couple of times. it jerks its head right to left. it jerks its head up and down. it then stops and starts flexing its biceps.

SCIENTIST: “HmmÖ”

The scientist presses the back of the neck of the robot again. The robot is instantaneously stays still. it has his eyes wide open. it is frozen like a doll.

CUT TO: The scientist takes out a flashlight and flashes it to the robotís eyes

CLOSE UP: The robotís eyes glow.(the effect can be as simple as just shining light in the eyes to give them an uncanny glow)

ROBOT: “Unit is active.”

SCIENTIST: “Remove your underwear.” (if nudity is an option)

ROBOT: “Removing underwear now.” The robot removes its underwear, as the scientist feels it up.

SCIENTIST: admiring his work. “This is good! Now for the real test.” He proceeds to shut the robot down, pressing the back of it’s neck.

CLOSE UP: it slowly and very mechanically tilts its head down, eyes open, staring into nothing.

FADE OUT…

FADE IN…

CLOSE UP: Mirroring the last scene.

INT. UNDISCLOSED TIME

CLOSE UP: Mirroring the last scene cont.

the robot instantly activates.

ROBOT: “hey, what’s up, dude?”

robot dressed in workout clothes, a duffle bag over its shoulder as if it was just in from the gym. moving fairly uncanally natural. as if at a glance, a person would just think hes a regular guy, unless it’s really looked at.

we see the scientist sitting on the couch, reading on his tablet.

SCIENTIST: “not much, man; how was the gym?”

ROBOT: “intense!”

SCIENTIST: “how many pounds did you lift?”

ROBOT: “175, i think.”

SCIENTIST: “really? that’s a lot!”

ROBOT: shrugs “it’s nothing”

SCIENTIST: “i guess…”

ROBOT sighs and freezes in place, staring into space.

SCIENTIST notices the freeze. “hey, you ok?”

robot doesnít respond. robot is still and doesnít move with his eyes open. scientist gets up and waves his hand in front of the robotís face. There is no response from the robot, standing there frozen like a statue.

SCIENTIST upset with the freeze.

“hello? anyone home? knocking on the robot’s head.

scientist finds a cable sticking out of the robot. He gets it and plugs it into a wall socket.

ROBOT: “Unit charging.”

DISSOLVE TO: minutes have passed and the robot is fully charged. robotís movements are slower and robotic.

ROBOT: “Fully charged.”

SCIENTIST: “stand up.”

ROBOT: stands up. He stays still.

ROBOT: “Unit standing.”

SCIENTIST: “Remove your shirt.”

ROBOT: “Unit removing shirt.”

SCIENTIST: feels up his chest. He tweaks its nipples, licks them, and plays with its belly button. the entire time, it is unresponsive.
