CPR

12 min.

Episode 1.
Alex is in the ER. He is laying on the table naked, his genitals is covered with towel. You attach electrodes on Alex’s chest.
Then you begin to resuscitate of Alex. Use the defibrillator, ambu bag and cardiac massage.
In several minutes there is a pulse. Alex wakes up not immediately but after a while. A couple minutes later Alex opens his eyes. He can’t understand where he is and what has happened. You tell him that he had a cardiac arrest and now he is in the hospital.
To Alex could breathe easier you pull the green oxygen mask on his face. Then Alex is transferred to an ordinary ward.
Alex is in the ward, he lies on the bed. He is wearing a blue hospital shirt. The doctor appears. The doctor asks Alex about his health.
Then the doctor measures guy’s blood pressure, listens his heartbeat and breathing. After that the doctor tells the patient that he has to have an urgent surgery as a result of his condition.
Episode 2. The preparation for the surgery
Alex is laying on the surgical table. He wears only short pants. No socks! His legs are covered with a sheet. There are electrodes on his chest. There is the unit to measure the blood pressure on his arm.
The preparation for surgery is beginning. You check Alex’s heartbeat and breathing and measure his blood pressure. Next the patient should get the general anesthesia.
You make him an injection in a vein in his arm. You ask Alex to do a couple deep breaths and count aloud from one to ten. Approximately on 6-7 Alex falls asleep.
After Alex closed his eyes and fell asleep you apply a green oxygen mask to his face for a couple of minutes. Then you intubate your patient. Fix the intubated tube with tape.
After intubating you check the patient’s condition again. You measure his blood pressure, check his carotid pulse, check his pupils, listen to his heartbeat and breathing.
After that you distract for a moment from your patient. Alex stays in frame alone. Suddenly he makes several deep breaths and stops breathing. Alex’s heart is stopped.
Then you appear and begin to revive Alex. You don’t extubate the patient, you connect the ambu bag to the tube in Alex’s mouth. You blow oxygen through the tube. For reviving you also use the defibrillator and chest compressions.
After several minutes of resuscitation Alex’s heartbeat came back, but Alex has not come to his senses, he has fell into a coma. Then the patient is transferred to the ICU.
Episode 3. In the ICU
The patient is in the intensive care. He’s in a coma. There is an endotracheal tube in his mouth. There are electrodes on his chest. There is an apparatus for measuring blood pressure on his arm. Attach tube with tape. His body was covered with a sheet to the lower abdomen. The patient is connected to the artificial ventilation of the lungs. So I want to see a simulation of the apparatus.
Suppose for 3 – 4 of minutes the guy’s chest rises and falls evenly, imitating the work of a respirator. You do nothing at this time. There is only the patient is connected to the machine in the frame. You can make some close-ups of faces and the patient’s chest.
Then you begin to check the status of the patient. You listen to his heart, you change his blood pressure, you check his pupils, you check his pulse on his neck and arm.
After checking of patient’s condition you decide to try to take him out of the coma. You make him a special injection, turn off the ventilator, but don’t remove the tube from patient’s mouth. About a minute after that Alex opens his eyes. You ask him to make sharp exhalation during which you remove the tube from Alex’s mouth.
You listen to his breathing again. Alex suddenly gasps, he loses consciousness. His heart stops again.
You begin to resuscitate the patient again. You intubate him again. You connect the ambu bag to intubated tube and give oxygen through it. You use defibrillator.
After 2-3 defibrillations Alex’s heart begins to beat again, but he is still unconscious. You connect
